Camping rules
Note: Currently there are no showers or toilets provided. A porta-pot or porta-loo is something you ought to consider bringing with you. Otherwise a shovel and role of loo paper is the go...Sorry.
Whilst we would like to say, 'Yep, just turn up and play', unfortunately due to government regulation in various areas of our lives some rules have had to be set down. These are listed below and have been made as simple and as few as possible.
This invitation is conditional to observance of the following rules.
Fire.
Only small cooking fires are permitted
Each person using a fire must provide adequate fire fighting equipment
Trees must not be hewn down for any purpose. Fallen timber can be gathered for firewood. (there is plenty of fallen timber).
Each camper must check with the rural fire brigade on the current fire ban status before lighting fires. Free call 1800020440. The onus and any penalty for illegal fires rests with you.
All fires must be properly extinguished before breaking camp
No fire is to be left unattended at anytime.
A two meter area cleared of combustible material must be established around any campfire site.
Water
Persons are encouraged to provide enough drinking water for their needs while camped. However:
Drinking water is available from a tap situated near the three green tanks at the shed / house.
Please conserve water by taking only what you need and ensuring the tap is properly turned off.
Dams, there are two dams on the property, both can be used for swimming & catching yabbies . You can use the dam water for washing, however please fill a bucket and take it away with you for washing. Contaminates like soap, shampoo, greasy plates, etc are not permitted in the dams.
Weapons
No hunting is permitted
If you want to discharge a period firearm, please come and see us at the shed / house near the green tanks first.
You are welcome to bring your period firearms as part of your kit if you are appropriately licensed.
Archery, if wish to loose bodkins or broad-heads please come and see us at the shed / house first. Target tipped arrows and combat blunts observing relevant safety precautions are allowed at anytime.
All period edged weapons are permitted and their use is subject to the rules of the O.A.L. or rules recognized as appropriate by the S.C.A, the A.L.H.F, or the Q.L.H.F.
You can bring period pre-gunpowder historical projectile weapons (example, Ballista, Trebuchet) . The use of such a device is subject to the rules of the S.C.A or rules recognized as appropriate by the A.L.H.F, or the Q.L.H.F.
Horses
To the left of the shed as you enter the property are two fenced yards for your horses. An old bath is provided as a water trough and is filled from the dam water pump and poly-pipe via a tap at the trough.
Unfortunately there is no shelter for horses yet, apart from a few trees, however you are welcome to erect a temporary shade tent in the paddock for your horses.
Salt bush and good grass grow in the paddocks, but its abundance or not is dependant on the time of year, so please bring enough supplemental feed for your horses.
The owners take no responsibility for horses kept in these yards or for horses escaping from them.
